Your Instructor

Hi! I’m Colleen Gratzer. I got into accessibility in 2016, when I was recruited by an expert on two international accessibility standards committees.

At first, I felt overwhelmed and confused by the accessibility guidelines and all that needed to be considered when designing and building an accessible website. I also realized there was a lot of bad website accessibility information out there.

So I came up with a website accessibility process, which made creating accessible websites much more manageable!

Accessibility turned around my business—and my confidence—for the better. I went from competing for work to work coming to me.

I got more respect. I started charging more (and clients stopped questioning the price!). I stopped getting pushback on my designs.

I am passionate about accessibility and helping other designers learn it, so that they are better designers, more confident and more efficient.

I combine my expertise as a designer with my unique ability to break down the complex topic of accessibility into a plain-English process that is much easier to understand than trying to decipher accessibility guidelines.

“I have had a lot of accessibility training. Colleen’s training was by far the most comprehensive, well-organized training I’ve taken thus far.”

“I was skeptical because of all of the overpriced fluff content courses out there, but yours came highly recommended — and it was worth it. It will be a way to increase my value as a web developer/designer.

I can’t tell you how much the accessibility conversation has ended the design wars with clients. I’m still a newbie at it, but just understanding how it works has upped my game when it comes to asserting myself in my design decisions. And now they listen!”

“I can’t say enough good things about Colleen’s accessibility training. Before I took this course, I already knew quite a bit about website accessibility best practices, and I was hoping to learn a few useful tidbits. By the end of Module 1, I had already added important information to my skillset that I was able to put into practice immediately.

The course was well organized, thorough but not overwhelming, and extremely informative. Everyone who builds websites should sign up for this training!”

“Colleen knows accessibility. I wanted to make sure I was up with the latest knowledge, tips and tools. I could have spent hours pulling together my own information or I could use Colleen’s course as a great refresher and resource guide.

It was totally worth it on the time-saving alone. The resource material was an added bonus.”
